Excellent Restaurants Worth Visiting
Don't you LOVE to eat out?  Have you ever looked at the dining options in Phoenix? There is more to choose from than you could possibly imagine, but that's great for you, because you get to take your pick at some fabulous restaurants and dig in to some of the best dishes you've ever had. Need some suggestions? Here are some restaurants worth visiting in the greater Phoenix area.
A Phoenix Staple - Tarbell’s is a friendly neighborhood atmosphere that features tight woods and white tablecloths, a sweeping bird’s-eye maple bar, and an exhibition kitchen. They also have an award-winning wine list and an extensive wine-by-the-glass menu. Mark Tarbell (the only winning competitor on the 5th season of “Iron Chef America”) opened Tarbells in 1944. Mark and his restaurants have earned a “Best Restaurant” from Food and Wine magazine and a nomination as “Best Chef-Southwest” by the James Beard Foundation.
Rancho Pinot Grill
A great place for amazing organic and locally harvested foods! The vibe is casual and sophisticated, just the right background for the knockout fare. You won’t find fresher or better quality elsewhere: stuffed squash blossoms, Mexican grouper, homemade pastas.
Humble Pie
Great wood fired pizzas -  the kids eat free on Sundays and date night dinner on Thursdays.
Mastro's Restaurants
Any one or their restaurants are wonderful! Mastro`s collection of sophisticated, classic Steakhouses and Ocean Club Seafood locations are recognized for their combination of world-class service, highly acclaimed cuisine, and live entertainment in an elegant yet energetic atmosphere. A truly unparalleled dining experience...
Mastro's Ocean Club
High-end restaurant producing seafood, steaks & sushi in a stylish setting with a lively bar located in Kierland Commons.
Postinos WineCafe
Good day or night. Have their bruschetta and wine. Postino is the original neighborhood WineCafe. Set in comfortable, rustic and immaculately restored buildings, each Postino combines unique and approachable wines with simple, delicious local grown fare.
Lunch, dinner...drinks. Let’s just go to the Vig….That’s what people in the Valley have been saying for years, when they are looking for a fun, friendly, upscale neighborhood tavern that appeals to any and all. Some love it for their terrific patio. Others for the unique but affordable menu items. Still others show up for the mix of live music and dj’s. And of course there are those who just want to enjoy a cool beverage and a friendly game of bocce ball. No matter the reason…let’s just go to The Vig.
The restaurant has been open for more than 60 years, and with good reason. Durant's is a steakhouse known for incredible food, great service, and a beautiful atmosphere. It's where you go when you want to impress someone special, get dressed up more than usual, and look at your date in a way that reminds you of why you chose each other in the first place. Durant's has an extensive wine list, and while the menu is relatively limited, there's something for everyone. They're open 7 days a week, with lunch and dinner served during the week and only dinner on the weekends.
The Mission
Old Town Scottsdale’s heart is beating to a Latin drum, now that The Mission has arrived and brightened the restaurant scene. Renowned Zinc Bistro Chef Matt Carter is now cooking up modern Latin cuisine blending influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America and South America. Home made Tortillas, Arepas, and Salsas are made fresh daily and all meats are prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor.

The Arrogant Butcher
Located in the downtown area of Phoenix, The Arrogant Butcher serves up American-style food with a twist. The don't just slap food on the plate and call it a day, they actually care about what goes onto the dish, and the fact that they won “Best Dessert” in 2012 by Best of Downtown Phoenix for their Salted Caramel Pudding should be an indication. The Arrogant Butcher also has an inexpensive Happy Hour from 3-6 on Monday through Saturday. Whether you want a beer, glass of wine, or a bottle of champagne, they have a long list of drinks to choose from.
Binkley's Restaurant
Fasten your seat belts" at this "expensive" Cave Creek New American – voted the Phoenix/Scottsdale area's No. 1 for Food – because chef-owner Kevin Binkley conducts a "culinary magical mystery tour" focusing on customized tasting menus with "surprising combinations" and "beautifully prepared small plates" inspired by molecular gastronomy; the "romantic", "out-of-the-way" setting, "flawless" service and "expert wine pairings" also help make it the "best excuse for a splurge.
Dominicks Steak House
Happening and definitely haute", this North Scottsdale meatery is "off the hook" with its "fabulous" beef, "huge cocktails" and "excellent" wines; with "fancy decor" and "first-class service" to sustain "quality all the way", even the cost-conscious conclude it's "worth the price now and then."

Don't make the mistake of thinking that Cibo is just another pizzeria. They pride themselves on making mouth-watering dishes with the unmistakable flair of incredible Italian cooking. They have an extensive wine menu with a few beer selections mixed in for good measure. Whether you want a Diavola pizza for dinner or a Nutella crepe for dessert, you won't be disappointed. There are many reviews from past guests at Cibo who deem their pizza not only the best in Phoenix, but also in Arizona.

Pizzeria Bianco
It may seem counterproductive to put two pizzerias on the same list of best places to eat at in Phoenix, but a little friendly pizza competition on your taste buds can't hurt. Pizzeria Bianco has been open more than 25 years, and what was once a small pizzeria in the back of a grocery store has now expanded to become one of the best restaurants in town. They have several types of pizza as well as a slew of other dishes, but many past guests especially rave about the Sonny Boy, which is a pizza that consists of tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, gaeta olives, and salami.

T. Cook's Restaurant
This classy restaurant is yet another wonderful pick for a date night that will make any romantic blush. Have a glass of wine and sit by the fire! T. Cook's Restaurant has excellent dishes, a great wine selection, and live music several times a week. They don't have a huge menu, but past guests gush about how good the food is, and say that despite the somewhat expensive prices, it's worth every penny. The ambiance isn't so bad either. Head over and check it out for yourself. T. Cook's Restaurant is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Olive and Ivy
Located just outside of Scottsdale Fashion Center. Great food and a lovely patio. Try their Sunday brunch!
Casual dinning for lunch and dinner. The Fresh Market Salads and pizza are really good.
The Capital Grille
Outpost of the upscale steakhouse chain offers classic American fare & a clubby, refined setting.
Zinc Bistro
Cozy French bistro with an oyster bar featuring brassy, Parisian-like surrounds with a patio. Located in Kierland Commons.

Veneto Trattoria Northern Italian Restaurant
Casual, old-world trattoria featuring Venetian specialties, an extensive wine list & a patio.
Located at "The Shops at Hilton Village".
Marcellino Ristorante
If you want a "real Italian restaurant" (i.e. "not a red‑sauce joint"), this "expensive but excellent" Downtown/Old Town Scottsdale dining room from chef Marcellino Verzino "delivers".
J&G Steakhouse
For "spectacular" views "overlooking the Phoenix skyline", book a terrace table at Jean‑Georges Vongerichten's "chic" Downtown/Old Town Scottsdale steakhouse. Located in the Phoenician hotel.
El Chorro
1937 landmark offering upscale American fare, a bocce ball court, big patio & occasional live music. Everyone love the Stickey Buns. Located in Paradise Valley.
Lons at The Hermosa
Romantic possibilities" abound at this expensive Paradise Valley New American, where the "staff treats you like royalty" amid a "stunning", "world‑class setting" in a "historic hacienda" with phenomenal views.
Arcadia Farms Cafe
Ladies who lunch" (and breakfast) flock to this Downtown/Old Town Scottsdale refuge, though the "wonderful" New American fare, from "delicious" salads to "decadent" desserts, is "suitable for guys" too.
Vincent Market Bistro
One of the "best bangs for your buck" in town, this "friendly" French "oasis", a sibling and neighbor to Vincent's on Camelback, delivers a "marvelous" and "reasonably priced" bistro menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
